John Brislin, Wood Artisan |
|
About: Several years ago, my youngest daughter asked if I would build a coffee table for her, a fairly simple project with drop leaves and turned legs. At the time, I wasn’t a woodturner, so I had to buy turned legs. The table came out great, but it bothered me that I wasn’t able to do the complete job with my lack of woodturning knowledge, so in 2002, when I retired from my “real” job, I signed up for some woodturning classes. I think about halfway through the first class that I became hooked on turning, and to this day I still enjoy the challenge and excitement of creating something beautiful and useful from a piece of wood that may have otherwise ended up in a woodstove.
Services/Products Offered: custom woodturning, bowls, bottle stoppers, pens Affiliations/Awards: Member Vermont Woodnet, Woodchuck Turners of Northern Vermont, Vermont Wood Manufacturers Assoc., Vermont Handcrafters, Inc., and the American Association of Woodturners.
