We're still in the process of signing up artists and artisans for inclusion in The Fine Artisan. At the moment, we have world-class craftspeople featured in the woodworkers, sculptors and custom furniture categories. We encourage you to check out their work. You'll be impressed.

In no particular order:

• Bob Gasperettiis The Fine Artisan's featured artisan of the month. He's a custom furniture maker based out of Mount Tabor, VT. He specializes in crafting simple-but-elegant furniture that's built to last generations. Everything he produces is solid wood; he prefers cherry, walnut and maple.
• Hoppy Quick is a woodworker based in the Catskill Mountain region. A woodsman since age 16, Hoppy Quick is a skilled chainsaw carver.
• J.S. Benson Woodworking & Design is a 9-person operation founded by renowned artisan J. Steve Benson. Based in Brattleboro, VT, J.S. Benson Woodworking is known for producing superior windows and doors.
• Bruce McCandless is an upstate New York-based wood artisan who's inspired greatly by the his natural surroundings in the Catskill Mountains region. He specializes in crafting counter tops, bowls, sculptures and turnings. He's also a talented photographer.
• John G. Perrella is an upstate New York wood artisan who lathe turns bowls out of hardwood. He has crafted thousands of pieces in his lifetime, and specializes in bowls, turnings and custom wood furniture.
• John Brislin has been a woodworker for over 25 years and started turning wood about seven years ago. Based in Milton, VT, John specializes is crafting fine bowls, bottle stoppers and pens.
• Peter Pomerantz has been enthusiastic about woodworking since he built a mahogany canoe a decade ago. Today, Pomerantz runs his own business, Pomerantz Woodworking, and handcrafts custom-built kitchens, countertops, cutting boards and furniture.
• David R. Bergdahl spent nearly 30 years analyzing forest pathology at the University of Vermont. During his tenure, he became fascinated with the unique characteristics of wood from different environments. Now, he specializes in using "character wood" when crafting bowls, lamps, bottle stoppers, candle holders, vases and other items.
• Nikita Grigoriev retired from the airline industry in 1983 to make convertible furnishings. He founded Nikita INDOOR OUTDOOR, which specializes in crafting home furniture, patio furniture, futon sofabeds, chair beds, chaise lounges, convertible deep seating and luxury chase lounges.
• Jonah Meyer and Tara De Lisio are the founders of SERV CE STATION in Glenford, NY. They handcraft a myriad of furniture, including armoire, bar stools, benches, bookcases, cabinets, chairs, chests, tables, desks, headboards, garden structures, railings, sculptures, bread boards, chair legs and turnings.
• Young Furniture is a custom cabinet manufacturer based in Bow, NH. Offering premium unfinished cabinets for both commercial and residential applications, Young Furniture also offers the option of having furniture produced from lumber that's been certified through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
